It is quite natural that when one is going for a holiday, he or she would like to spend some quality time and also try to explore as many places as possible. When someone is going to Myanmar; Yangon, Inle Lake, Bagan and Mandalay are the four most visited places. Hence you should try to visit these places without fail. All the places are accessible by buses. It is better to make Yangon as the base and then transit to the other places via buses. There are several types of buses available for the transit. One can choose a travel company and service according to the need and budget. Keeping budget in mind, there are many budget carriers that operate in these cities for the tourists and also for the local people who are travelling. It is better to book the ticket in advance in order to avoid any last minute rush.

There are decent overnight air conditioned buses available for travel. As mentioned, it is advised to book the tickets in advance as there are chances of seats being sold out. For tourists, the hotel travel desk can help in booking the advance tickets for the buses. This is the easiest way and hassle free. However, it should be kept in mind that the hotel may charge service charges for the ticketing service that they are offering. Another option is to contact the travel agents. These agents generally have cheaper tickets than hotel travel desks. The Bagan to Inle Lake journey is for 16 hours. The bus leaves from Bagan at 4 AM. The 16 hours journey includes all the breaks and stopovers. The travel to Yangon from Inle Lake or Bagan is overnight – the buses leave at 3 PM and drops you at Yangon at 5 or 6 AM.

The route to Inle is over the mountains with a spectacular view. The traveller can enjoy the scenic beauty of the terrain while travelling in bus. However, the traveller should have ample amount of time to meet all the agenda points of the travel if one is willing to travel by bus. As the route to Inle is via the mountains, the journey is slow. However, the route to Mandalay is much faster and convenient. There are various types of buses available for transit from Yangon to Inle or Mandalay.

There are service providers who charges are little higher for air conditioned buses, but they ensure comfort of the traveler especially during the summer season. Another tip during air conditioned bus travel is to keep the warm clothes as the temperature inside the bus may get chilly during the latter half of the journey. If you are planning for a long road trip spanning from the routes Yangon-Mandalay-Bagan-Inle and back to Yangon, the journey can be scintillating as you cut across the heart of the country, observing the indigenous culture and sampling some authentic Burmese cuisines in the road stalls.
